Als Reaktion auf Motorolas Forderung von 2,25 % von Apples Mobilgeräte-Einnahmen hat Apple jetzt eine Gegenklage in den USA eingereicht: Motorola, so Apple, habe durch die Forderungen an Apple als Qualcomm-Kunde gegen seinen Lizenzvertrag mit Qualcomm verstoßen. Die Patentansprüche, für die Motorola Verkaufsstopps von Apple-Geräten oder Lizenzzahlungen verlange, seien dadurch bereits “erschöpft”.
