Research In Motion is dead

I saw from the inside and outside how RIM transformed the mobile landscape, and how the company even battled its own inner demons throughout the years. Here are my thoughts on the companys worst quarter in five years:
RIM grew incredibly fast. It grew faster than the company knew how to manage, and RIM slowly — and then quickly — slipped as a result. This is the company that used to make users choose between a device with Quelle: BGR… [weiterlesen]

Yesterday’s iPad Event Was Only Half The Story

08.03.2012 23:55, TechCrunch
Because of the way Apple structures their major announcements — iPad in the first quarter, WWDC and iPhone in the summer though perhaps with the iPhone, now its fall — the iPad event is a little weird, because its really only half an event. The first half is what happened yesterday — the unveiling of the new iPad. And the new stuff is mostly about hardware features. The Retina Display. Quelle: DAF… [weiterlesen]

Wonder What Games Might Look Like On The New iPad? Check This Out

01.03.2012 22:04, TechCrunch
The new iPad, if rumors are to be believed, has an extremely high-resolution screen — better than most monitors and packed into a quarter of the display space. The result? iPhone 4-like Retina goodness. But its actually kind of hard to visualize this, since most pixel-dense displays are small, and were used to a certain level of aliasing on our bigger displays.
