According to Fitch Ratings latest telecom special report released today, postpaid smartphone penetration increased to 46.8% in third-quarter 2011, a change of 310 basis points (bps) sequentially. Googles Android Development Team has released a build of the mobile that will run on x86 chips.
In practical terms, this means Intel and AMD processors could be powering Android tablets of the future.

Microsoft may be bringing Office to the iPad next year, according to a report in The Daily.
The report cites unnamed sources, and says that Microsoft will also update its version of Office for the Mac next year.
