XobotOS: Android auf C# portiert‏

Die hinter der .Net-Imlementierung Mono stehende Firma Xamarin hat das in Java geschriebene Android-API auf C# portiert. Das resultierende XobotOS verspricht nicht nur eine bessere Rechtslage, sondern soll auch schneller als das Original sein.

Mono for Android: Für Ice Cream Sandwich mit C# und .NET entwickeln

Xamarin hat seine Open-Source-Implementierung von Microsofts .NET-Plattform für die Entwicklung von Apps für das kürzlich erschienene Android  4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) veröffentlicht. Hinter Xamarin stehen Miguel de Icaza, Nat Friedman und Joseph Hill, die bei Novell maßgeblich die Mono-Entwicklung vorangetrieben haben und im Mai nach der Übernahme Novells durch Attachmate das Start-up gegründet hatten.
